Energy Generators
Firm solar is solar you can schedule. One machine that collects by day and delivers all night, sited on water the grid already reaches.
From remote villages to city grids, Thermal Floaters generate clean power on any calm body of water, day and night.
Thermal Floater
A Thermal Floater keeps generating after sunset. Sunlight builds up as intense heat in a solid thermal core through the day and the core carries the generator through the evening peak and the night and into the next morning. When demand spikes it runs at up to double its rated output and eases back through the small hours. Even partial cloud cover leaves it generating.
In side-by-side testing on open water in Singapore our deployments delivered 2.1 times the energy of the floating solar panels beside them through a sunny day under the same haze.
Solar power is cheap until the sun sets and holding the night with batteries multiplies its price. The Thermal Floater is built from steel and abundant raw materials on a cost curve that grows massively cheaper with scale, and its core outlives every battery it competes with.
A hectare of calm water carries over half a megawatt of continuous supply, twice what floating panels manage from the same surface around the clock. Our floaters arrive factory-built and click together on the water, so a field can be assembled by a raft rather than a crane. Our units make sure that when under maintenance, they never dim the rest.
Built from steel and fully recyclable components, each floater is designed for over 25 years of service. The thermal core has no chemistry to wear out and it heats and cools daily for decades without degrading. Over 90% of the machine can be recycled at end of life.
Thermal Floaters live on reservoirs and cooling ponds and the idle water beside hydroelectric dams and chip fabs and data centres. These sites already sit next to high-voltage lines and hungry demand so projects skip the land fights and shorten the road to grid connection.

Frequently Asked
Yes. Sunlight collected through the day is held as intense heat in a solid thermal core and that core keeps the generator running long after sunset. Generation carries on day and night and even through partial cloud cover. There is no battery anywhere in the system and nothing that wears out like one.
Each unit connects to its neighbours so the array moves as one body, and the whole array is moored to the waterbed beneath it. Moored like this it withstands waves of up to 1.5 metres, and we are actively working to raise that ceiling further. The lens is impact-resistant and every part of the structure is grounded against lightning.
Yes. Environmental impact assessments shaped the design: the floats let light through, leave water temperature and composition essentially unchanged, and sit gently enough for sensitive reservoirs. We keep monitoring deployed sites with environmental experts and fold what we learn into the hardware.
Yes. Each unit takes about 3 by 3 metres of water and supplies roughly half a kilowatt around the clock, with up to double that on call through the evening peak. Arrays run from a few units on a cooling pond to megawatt fields across a reservoir and our team designs the layout around your site's sun and water and regulations.
Every unit carries its own inverter inside, so an array delivers grid-ready power at the collection point and ties in through standard switchgear with little change to your existing infrastructure. Many of the best sites such as reservoirs and cooling ponds and hydro dams already sit beside high-voltage connections, and we handle the integration while walking you through the regulatory steps.
Very little. Plan an inspection every 3 to 4 months to clear debris and give the lens a clean that keeps output high. The wetted hull is plastic and the machine is protected against algae and barnacles and freshwater rust, so there is nothing below the waterline that corrodes. Each unit is designed for over 25 years of service and over 90% of it is recyclable when that service ends.
