Generation carries on day and night and even through partial cloud cover. There is no battery anywhere in the system and nothing that wears out like one.

Each unit connects to its neighbours so the array moves as one body, and the whole array is moored to the waterbed beneath it. Moored like this it withstands waves of up to 1.5 metres, and we are actively working to raise that ceiling further. The lens is impact-resistant and every part of the structure is grounded against lightning.

Yes. Environmental impact assessments shaped the design: the floats let light through, leave water temperature and composition essentially unchanged, and sit gently enough for sensitive reservoirs. We keep monitoring deployed sites with environmental experts and fold what we learn into the hardware.

Yes. Each unit takes about 3 by 3 metres of water and supplies roughly half a kilowatt around the clock, with up to double that on call through the evening peak. Arrays run from a few units on a cooling pond to megawatt fields across a reservoir and our team designs the layout around your site's sun and water and regulations.

Every unit carries its own inverter inside, so an array delivers grid-ready power at the collection point and ties in through standard switchgear with little change to your existing infrastructure. Many of the best sites such as reservoirs and cooling ponds and hydro dams already sit beside high-voltage connections, and we handle the integration while walking you through the regulatory steps.

Very little. Plan an inspection every 3 to 4 months to clear debris and give the lens a clean that keeps output high. The wetted hull is plastic and the machine is protected against algae and barnacles and freshwater rust, so there is nothing below the waterline that corrodes. Each unit is designed for over 25 years of service and over 90% of it is recyclable when that service ends.
